Cory Firestone Weiss

Cory is a sustainability professional with over 15 years’ experience  developing and implementing sustainability strategies.  At PricewaterhouseCoopers, Cory advised leading commercial banks on climate and energy risk management policies as well as strategies to develop new financing solutions to address climate change. In addition, Cory has worked with industrial, service sector and non-profit organizations to design and implement sustainability strategies. Her experience in the sustainability space spans the spectrum from developing revenue growth strategies to sustainability reporting.  Prior to PwC, Cory served as a policy analyst at the Export-Import Bank of the United States, where she worked on OECD environmental guidelines for export finance.  Through her experience in the corporate, government and non-profit sectors, Cory has partnered with financial institutions, large industrials, non-governmental organizations, and U.S. and foreign government agencies to identify consensus approaches to complex environmental and social issues. She currently serves as Chair of the City of Falls Church Environmental Sustainability Council, where she drives a sustainable, climate resilient development agenda. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Asian Studies from Williams College and a Masters in International Relations from UC San Diego.

Arturo Herrera

Arturo Herrera is the Outreach Manager for the Security and Sustainability Forum. He started as a Software Developer in Nashville, Tennessee. After a few years, Arturo decided to pursue his dream and work with endangered sea turtles as a Program Manager in Latin America and the Caribbean for the next seven years. He worked as a Marine Park & Turtle Program Coordinator in the Dutch Caribbean before moving to South Carolina and then DC. He previously worked as a Permit Analyst for NOAA’s Office of Protected Resources before joining the NOAA Observing System Council (NOSC) team. Arturo hold a Masters of Science in Conservation & Biodiversity from the University of Exeter.
